2016: A Year In Review: Paella In Spain To Bibimbap in Korea

“What the hell am I even doing?”

The first time this thought popped into my head was after quitting my job in NYC and deciding I wanted to be an entrepreneur. In business articles, they tell you that before quitting your job you should have market validation, six months of savings, or at the very least some kind of rudimentary plan.

I had none of these things.

This past year has been a whirlwind of ups and downs and going into 2017 all I have to say now is  “Wow, I’ve learned a lot.”

What I’ve Been Working On:

Airlink Marketing

This year, I took the plunge into startup land building Airlink Marketing, a marketing, design, and PR agency. 2016 brought us some fun projects and I feel so fortunate to have been able to work with so many great clients and a fun team.

Over the past few years, I’ve had dozens of ideas for products. This year, I started creating mugs, totes and tees on Etsy after inspiration from my friend Sharon.

Etsy has become a creative outlet for me to explore new ideas and I’ve had a lot of fun creating. Right now, I’m working on a number of new products for 2017. Can’t wait to show you!

Writing & Blogging

Yesterday I realized that this personal blog has been desolate for over half the year. I’ve been writing, just not here. Here are a few of my favorite articles I’ve enjoyed writing for other publications and here on my blog earlier in the year.

And even more on the Airlink Marketing blog. *Phew*

Where I’ve Been Living

I feel very fortunate to have been able to travel this year as I built my business from anywhere I could find a stable wifi connection. This year, I bounced around working and living in New York, Seattle, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Israel, Hong Kong and Korea.

Here are a few of the many highlights captured in photos. (And so many more I don’t have photos of!)

Thank You!

Though there have been a number of moments in 2016 I’ve felt as if I was falling without a parachute, I wouldn’t change this past year for anything. I laughed. I cried. I succeeded. I failed. 2016 was a rollercoaster that I’m happy to have ridden.

There is no way I could have gotten to this point with my business and travels without the support of a great team, amazing friends, and family. I feel truly lucky to have a support system in my life who says “you can do it.” instead of “you’re crazy.”

See you next year!
